Women in the American Revolution

To understand how the Revolution touched the lives of ordinary people, it is important to realize the contributions of women.

The stories of men in the American Revolution, such as Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, and Samuel Adams, are well documented. Many people do not realize, however, the important contributions that women made to the Revolution. Women supported boycotts, spoke out in favor of the Revolution, served as battlefield support, and even saw combat.
