St. Augustine is in northern Florida and is one of the oldest settlements in the United States.
St. Augustine is a modern city in northern Florida. It is also the oldest U.S. city founded by Europeans. The Spanish began St. Augustine in 1565. This was 42 years before the English founded Jamestown, Virginia. It was also 55 years before the Pilgrims settled Plymouth Colony.
