Labor Unions and the Rights of Workers
How labor unions were formed and why they continue to be a vital part of the workforce.
Think about waking up in the morning and going to work. Now think about having to work a 16-hour day, six days a week, for very low wages. There is no paid time off and the working conditions are dirty, unhealthy, and unsafe. It isn't a very pleasant thought, is it? Yet, this was the way things were over 100 years ago. Thanks to the fights waged by the labor unions, this country now has very strict labor laws that protect workers' rights, whether a person belongs to a union or not.
