Hurricanes
One of the most powerful storms can cause millions of dollars in destruction and loss of life.
The wind howls. The rain beats on windows and roofs. Buildings shake. Tree branches fall from trees and entire trees are uprooted. You can’t see more than 10 feet ahead of you because of the rain that looks like it’s falling sideways. Streets flood and cars wash away. Sometimes people die in the flash floods that come out of nowhere. One minute the water is ankle deep. The next minute you have trouble standing up because the water is swirling around your knees and rising higher. You’re in a hurricane! Before you read this article, think about the worst storm that you have ever been in.
