How baseballs are made evolved over time, just like the game itself.

Baseballs were not always white. They weren’t always the same size and weight as they are now either. When the game started, the balls were brown. Players thought they could see them better in daylight. There were no night games. Teams also played with balls that the players or local businesses made.
